Attractions & Activities
MGM
Grand Adventures - A
fun park that all ages can enjoy. A little of everything
is offered at the Grand Adventures. Rides like the bumper
cars, flume ride, haunted mine, rapids ride, motion
simulator and more. Also see great theatre shows like a
Three Stooges presentation, a pirate show, acrobats etc.
Other attractions, fast food and retail shops are also
available. - 3799 Las Vegas Blvd. South, (800)929-111
Grand
Slam Canyon - Another great place to
have fun. The world's largest indoor roller coaster is
located here along with a few other rides (flume ride and
some kid's rides). Not quite as much offered here as MGM
Grand Adventures, but still worth the visit. - 2880
Las Vegas Blvd. South, (800)634-3450
Wet
'n' Wild - Exactly as the name says.
This is the place to be on those blistering summer days.
Lots of different water rides and slides are available.
Cruise down a 300 ft. long slide or drop 75ft in a Der
Stuka, giving you the feel of a free fall. There is a
giant wave pool, a lazy river and many other slides and
rides to choose from. I definitely recommend this place
for great time. - 2601 Las Vegas Blvd. South,
(702)737-3819
Scandia
Family Fun Center - This attraction
has a lot of great stuff not offered by other amusement
parks in the area. Here you can get in a game of miniature
golf, jump aboard the bumper boats, climb into a race car
(go-karts) or test your ability to hit a baseball in the
batting cages. Also offered is a large arcade and snackbar.
- 2900 Sirius Ave., (702)364-0070
Buccaneer
Bay Sea Battle
- Canon fire flares, treasure chests are flung open,
powder stores are lost and a ship sinks with all hands on board
as the Buccaneers face the British Navy in an action-filled
performance every night. Who wins and which ship sinks to the
lagoon bottom? Only the viewers will know. This is, hands-down,
the BEST FREE SHOW in town. Unfortunately, due to the pyro and
actors high loft aboard the ships the show can, at times, be
cancelled due to high winds. The crowds are large so get there
early and plan to spend time on the dock. It is certainly worth
the wait. Times: nightly 4pm, 5:30pm, 7pm, 8:30pm, 10pm; extra
show at 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday. Treasure Island Hotel
front entrance; Adm: Free - 702-650-7400.
Casino
Legends Hall of Fame
- located in the Tropicana Hotel you can see the
world's largest collection of Nevada casino memorabilia.
Everything that made Las Vegas the legend it is, is reflected
here in photos, coins, gaming tokens, old slot machines, decks
of cards and out-dated dice. Admission is $4 but you can get a
free admission coupon from the Tropicana attendent standing at
the Free Pull Slot Machine located at the entrance to the
Tropicana Hotel. Open Sun-Thurs 8am-9pm, Fri-Sat 8am-12am. Must

Dancing
Fountain at the Bellagio - Located in front of
the Bellagio along the Strip, over 1000 fountains dance to the
works of Frank Sinatra and others as music and light perform
together with choreographed water jetting over 220 feet into the
sky. Performances begin Mon-Fri at 3pm and Sat-Sun at 12pm and
continue every half hour until 6pm and then every 15 minutes
until 12am. Admission FREE.
Dolphin
Habitat
- Located behind the Mirage Hotel, this beautiful
waterscape is home to dolphins. Yes, there are dolphins in the
desert! This exhibit is basically for animal appreciation and is
next door to Siegfred & Roy's Secret Garden. Open
11am-5:30pm daily. Admission $10 Thurs-Tues which also includes
admission to the Secret Garden, Admission $5 Wed (Dolphin
Habitat only since the Secret Garden is closed on Wednesdays)

Flamingo
Hilton Wildlife Habitat
- Right in the heart of the Strip, is where you will
find this built for nature wildlife habitat. Check out the
antics of the penguins, yes, penguins in Las Vegas! See gorgeous
pink flamingos, of course, as well as swans, turtles, fish and a
variety of birds on this 15 acre desert menagerie. Penguin
feeding daily at 3:00 pm. Admission FREE. 702-733-3111.
Gameworks
- Steven Spielberg is the brains behind this video
arcade of the future. It's NOT JUST for kids either! A playhouse
for the whole family, with over 300 interactive video games,
some beta test games are only found in this location. Try your
rock climbing skills on the only 75 foot indoor climbing
structure in the world. And when you get to the top, don't
forget to smile...your picture can be picked up at the bottom.
From unique games to virtual reality, you find it all here. Game
cards can be purchased in various amounts and they are rechargeable
in case the kids need more time on the machines. You
can get a bite to eat or watch the action from their
full-service bar. If you're looking for a different office
training venue or office party site, these options are also
available. Open Sun-Thurs 10am-12am, Fri-Sat 10am-1am.
702-432-4263.
Speedworld
at the Sahara
- Looking for a little race car action? Try out the
"virtual reality" Indy simulated racing at the Sahara
Hotel. These 3/4 scale Indy cars drive like the real thing in
this interactive ride. Test your driving skills against your
friends. Everyone comes home with a ranking sheet. Other
interactive games and 3-D theaters are available also. Open
Sun-Thurs 10am-10pm, Fri-Sat 10am-11pm, Indy Racing $8, 3-D
Theater $3. 702-737-2471.
Stratosphere
High Roller Roller coaster & Big Shot
- True adventure lovers will get excited about this
ride. Take the elevator to the top of the Stratosphere Tower, a
meager 900 feet above ground, and then board the world's highest
roller coaster for a thrill ride of a life time. If that doesn't
satisfy you, move on over to the Big Shot. Climb into the harness
and the Big Shot will propel you into the air another 160 feet
above the rooftop platform and then let you freefall back to the
launch pad. Not a ride for people with a fear of heights. Open
daily weather permitting. 702-380-7777.
